Weather Policy

What is the Club Weather Policy?

This is a difficult one to predict for many sports organizations operating outdoors.

Weather conditions can vary from location to location and from time to time, but we usually make a decision 30 minutes prior to any game and/or training session. Keep in mind that if you are already in transit and the rain is pouring hard, it's better to check the website for cancellation announcement.

Please click the weather forecast link herehttps://www.theweathernetwork.com/ca/hourly-weather-forecast/ontario/toronto

If there is no announcement on our website or by team email, it might be just too close to call and most likely we will be proceeding.  We regret any inconvenience that this may cause if we do have to call it off ... but it’s better to attend to make sure.

We definitely don't proceed if there is lightning or thunderstorms at the start of a game and/or when there is a steady downpour.  However, if there is only be a light drizzle without lightning or thunderstorms, we proceed as usual.

Unlike many other Clubs and/or grass fields which may be closed due to weather conditions that could damage the field, on turf fields games are rarely cancelled due to weather since they drain well.  More games are played on turf!

Games called off due to inclement weather are moved to the following week unless notified otherwise.  In some situations, it can result in games having to be played on the weekend.

The Club will endeavor to do its best to post updates on our Website Ticker Announcement area and will attempt to get emails out to all if playoff games are cancelled. However, don’t take a chance of missing a playoff game that might proceed.

Please call our office at 416-367-4359 to get an answer or visit the website on the Ticker Announcements (the scrolling text across above the website photo) rather than sending us an email.

In most instances with our young career of our U8 competitive players, it will be their respective division coach either Coach Andy (Girls) or Coach Callum (Boys) or team managers who will advise if practice is proceeding or not.

At this very moment there is no lightning or thunder, no steady torrential rainfall so even if it’s a slight drizzle … we proceed.
